For all the controversy that surrounds the Philippines’ 2016 National Elections, a netizen pointe doubt how eerily quiet mainstream media is which spells media blackout.
In an article written by Daryll Kim and shared by Eric Clark Su, it discussed how the national media is seemingly part of the conspiracy that, as Kim claims, “stole our votes in 2016.”
Recently, there was a video footage of a part of the Senate hearing that was taken down by Facebook, and Kim lays down the link this incident possibly has to the Yellow opposition.
“More troubling is that video footage (full and partial) and posts relating to the said hearing shared were taken down by Facebook. Surprise, surprise! Facebook Philippines Head of Public Policy was Butch Abad's Chief of Staff and was pseudo VP Leni Robredo's former consultant! Go figure!” Kim wrote.
Kim further slammed Rappler Founder Maria Ressa for publishing and tweeting about a story on former Biliran Representative Atty. Glenn Chong’s alleged involvement with former Senator Bongbong Marcos which, as all evidence points to, he is not.
Chong was accused of being part of Marcos’ counsel even if there was o court appearance or record that he ever was. He recently took to Facebook what Facebook did wrong, and that was taking down his original post of video showing a questionable personality during the Senate hearing when Senator Franklin Drilon questioned Chong’s affiliation with former Senator Bongbong Marcos.
Kim asserts that if one should hate President Rodrigo Duterte, it shouldn’t be because one perceives him as a dictator, suppressor of freedom of expression, and if one hates oligarchs.
The netizen further warns that if the whole nation keeps silent on the news blackout and no noise is being made to bring the controversies to public, then the nation is doomed to being “slaves” down to the next generations.

Mainstream media (print, TV, online), save for UNTV News and Rescue and a single tweet from ABS-CBN, are disturbingly quiet about the damning expose at the latest Senate hearing relating to the alleged massive election cheating in 2016 courtesy of Smartmatic (software developer) and COMELEC top honchos (former and some current).
This is while they are quick to keep the entire country abreast of Kris Aquino's every insignificant life episodes.
This is a candidate for expose of the year and yet no mileage!

Oh, BTW, the most 'celebrated' online blogging site head Maria Ressa did have a take on the issue. Of all the many newsworthy things she could comment about the hearing, she chose to tweet the chismis that Atty. Glenn Chong was BBM's lawyer, which he isn't. The Facebook fake news checker spreading #fakenews! Just Brilliant!
I know a lot of you hate the President to your guts for one reason or another.
But you should be ashamed of yourselves if you hate him for what you perceive of him as:
1. a dictator;
2. a person who suppresses freedom of expression;
3. and you hate oligarchs.
and not condemn this concerted effort of news blackout to keep the country shunned from the truth.
Make no mistake, this is no mere graft, scandal or faux pas by a government official that is being investigated by the Senate. This is about an institutional manipulating of our national election results to favor a ruling and dying party in an effort to keep their grip on power. This is tantamount to assassinating a legitimately installed president. It's that freaking serious!
This conglomerate of plunderers are desperately trying to make a comeback. They have all the resources and the platforms to do so. Now if you love being slaves and want your kids or your future kids to be slaves, go ahead and celebrate this news blackout!
If not, express your disgust on your walls or wherever. And if you come across the video, share it. Combat ignorance with information; propaganda with facts.
